Characters

Cody has a few main characters that he writes about, mostly for fun. As time permits, they will be introduced below.

Cody Denton
In a somewhat confusing twist of fate, Cody's main character is a cowboy wolf named after himself. The exact details of what led to this sort of odd course of events are locked away in the vaults of Cody's mind. (As in Cody the writer, not Cody the character. See what we mean about confusing?) No one has been able to get a straight answer from Cody as to why he named a character after himself. Maybe if someone offers to buy him enough drinks one day... In any event, Cody (the character) is everything Cody (the writer) probably wishes he could be. He is a gentleman cowboy, well educated and exquisitely courteous. He owns his own cattle ranch, the C-Bar-W, and, while he is not exactly getting rich, he is certainly doing well enough. He has an absolutely stunning collection of cowboy boots, a source of tremendous pride for him, and he is never seen without his jeans tucked into one of his many handsome pairs. Cody is mild-mannered and thoughtful, still tips his hat to the ladies, and is generally the sort of fellow that mothers all over would want their daughters to marry. Or at least they would, if Cody were not gay... |
Turner Craig

If Cody is the guy that all the mothers love, Turner is the one that all the mothers love to hate. Loudmouthed, obnoxious, brazen, and brash are words that only weakly begin to describe this husky. Turner is the archetypical biker bad-boy, clad in leather and liberally covered with tattoos, piercings, and even brands. He has a very objectionable attitude and the vocabulary of a sewer rat, speaking in a coarse and profane manner that makes Cody visibly cringe. But it is said that opposites attract, and Cody has a soft spot for this charismatic but vulgar oaf. Cody seems to believe that underneath all the braggadocio and swagger, there is a gentle spirit just wanting to be loved...
Turner first came to the C-Bar-W many years ago, hiring on as a ranch hand. He failed pretty miserably at that, but he and Cody remained friends -- eventually leading to romance. Despite his rough appearance and domineering attitude, Turner is actually the submissive partner in the relationship. He has had a very hard life and has never known love, trust, or stability -- things that he has found in Cody, and for which he is profoundly thankful. He's still a bit of a flirt, and he has been known to play around with other guys, but deep down he really wishes he could spend the rest of his life with this handsome cowboy. If only Cody would lighten up a bit and learn to relax...

Joseph Denton
Joseph is Cody's younger brother, as in WAY younger. This young adult could practically be Cody's son. He spent summer vacations working on the ranch when he was growing up, but due to a series of unfortunate circumstances, he recently came to live at the ranch with Cody full-time. Cody loves this pup dearly and is trying his best to finish raising him, although he's got his paws full with this one. Due to life events and tragedies, Joseph is a bit jaded and reckless. Making matters worse, the kid idolizes the loudmouthed roughneck Turner and tries to emulate him in every possible way. Cody tries hard to be supportive, however, and he'll usually wind up coaxing Joseph to do the right thing.
